Nothing changed our lives so drastically like computers during the past century. Computers changed the way of working, recreation, buying and selling. It changed the way of people doing business. It changed the way of people living.

Computer software is computer programs. Today software can sell for money. But at the beginning, software are all available for free. That is the way how software started to be developed.

Why they don't charge money at the beginning? Because people don't want to pay money for the software at that time. And people don't know how well the software will do for them before they use it. After they use it for a while and developed a habit to use it, that is a good time for the company to charge money for using. And that is what the company did.

Some people might ask why a person even need computer 20 years ago. But today if somebody ask that question, people will think that's silly. Computer hardware and software technologies developed so fast that it is out of everybody's expectation.
