I went with the home made incubator, and i did really well with it too 14 out of 16 hatched of the first clutch. would of been 15 but one baby drowned in his egg. he cut the slit in the egg then turns from the hole and drowned in his liquid. I have been having a problem with ants in my house and for some reason only half of my basement has ant trails. so i can safely keep all my animals down here but only on one side. i got a bearded dragon and put him up off the ground on some shelves hoping ants wouldn't get up there but they did. I have a female and a male bearded dragon caged together and this past Saturday (May 14th) she laid eggs. I am pretty sure that they are furtile eggs, but that is not my problem. My female has not started to eat again after laying the eggs. She has been eating like a horse and continues to do so. Veggies are almost always fresh but are occasionally frozen. Her crickets are always gutloaded at home by me and are fed a diet of fresh veggies and flukers cricket feed. At first i wasn't worried but now im starting to feel kinda nervous about it, i mean its been almost two weeks since her last fecal. Does this sound to long to any one? Okay, that is my setup. Despite all of this, my beardie is showing two digits on his right-front foot swelling, as well as part of his forearm, but no discoloration. His rear right foot is also swollen somewhat, with his longest digit sticking out. I removed it and now she has a tiny bit of red flesh protruding. I'm not sure what has happened, but she remains at a vey healthy weight and she is alert and eating. I'm hoping that she defecates soon so I can be a little relieved. And when i looked at the eggs they were all dented and half deflated. so i put them in a glass tank and up the humidity to where it almost makes a rain cloud and some of them got plump again. But I was using a plastic bin and a under water heater. and in here in Arizona its getting real hot. so anyways i keep the incubator in my closet and i haven't gone in there for a while, and when i looked all the water was gone so i put about 8 gallons of water back in and i notice the heater melted a big whole in the plastic and the water was all over my carpet. It has almost been a week. My boyfriend seems to think that our male is being to dominate over the food that we put in the cage. We have tried to separate them and she just doesn't seem to be interested in any of the food, this concerns me because she was a pig before she laid the eggs even before we had the male. What should I do, please help I will try anything. |
